The COVID-19 public health emergency highlighted the essential role that child care plays in supporting children, families, businesses, and the economy. In response to this crisis, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP). This plan includes $24 billion in child care stabilization grant funding. These funds will help keep early childhood educators and family child care providers keep their doors open and provide a critical step to paving the way for a strong economic recovery and more equitable future.

States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico will award subgrants to eligible child care providers. The child care stabilization subgrants will provide financial relief to child care providers to help defray unexpected business costs associated with the pandemic, and to help stabilize their operations so that they may continue to provide care.

States are in the process of making subgrant applications available to their child care providers. Click on the map below to find links to state and territory specific stabilization subgrant information and applications.
