School-Age Consumer Education Toolkit

The School-Age Consumer Education toolkit shares consumer education information, including state examples and resources, on the physical, social, and emotional health and development of school-age children and engagement efforts with their parents and families. In addition, the toolkit features a video that shows the importance of afterschool and summer care for families with data and details about the experiences of children served through federal subsidies.

The Spotlight on Summer section, added as part of the updated version of the toolkit, shares related state examples and resources.

This toolkit is designed to have broad relevance to state, territory, and tribal-level professionals, including Child Care and Development Fund Administrators and state afterschool network leads; 21st Century Community Learning Center leads; child care resource and referral agency staff members; and direct child-serving practitioners.

This document is also available in Spanish.
