The Program for Infant/Toddler Care's (PITC) Six Essential Program Practices for Relationship-Based Care: Primary Caregiving

This resource communicates the importance of primary caregiving for infants and toddlers. It provides rationale for designating a primary caregiver, and looks at positive outcomes for young children with a primary caregiver.

See the Infant/Toddler Resource Guide if you are interested in additional resources to support your work with infants, toddlers, and their families. The guide was created by the Infant/Toddler Specialist Network of the Child Care State Capacity Building Center and contains numerous resources to support policymakers; technical assistance professionals; and infant and toddler teachers, center directors, and family child care providers.

This resource is also available in Spanish.
