Child Care Health Consultation: Investing in Health and Early Learning Systems to Improve Child Outcomes

The development or expansion of a network of child care health consultants (CCHC) is one strategy states, territories, and tribes can use to support the health, safety, and well-being of children in child care. This brief provides an overview of the impact of CCHC's on children's health, common functions of CCHC's, a summary of how CCHC's are included in child care licensing regulations and quality rating and improvement systems. Also included in the brief is a table of state health consultation initiatives with links to publicly available websites.
