The National Center on Afterschool and Summer Enrichment (NCASE) has developed a number of resources focused on promoting school-age children’s learning and development in the summer months. This publication, NCASE Summer Resources, is part of a series compiling NCASE resources on a particular theme for the benefit of state, territory, and tribal Lead Agencies and their designated networks.

The interim guidance from the CDC includes important information for schools and child care centers in both English and Spanish. It includes a fact sheet about children and COVID-19 and a document on how to stop the spread of the virus. It was updated March 12, 2020. This resource supports the COVID-19 response.
Child Care Aware created this web-based school-age program checklist to help families select a high quality school-age program. It has questions on topics like health and safety, indoor and outdoor environment, caregiver-child interactions, staff qualifications, and parent partnerships. There is a link to print out the five-page checklist.
The National Center on Afterschool and Summer Enrichment (NCASE) has created a tipsheet, Summer Learning and Learning Enrichment: Tips for School-Age Care Providers, to share ideas with child care providers of things to think about before, during, and at the end of summer.
