This report summarizes survey data collected in 2020, both before and during the pandemic; it is the fourth survey, preceded by findings from 2004, 2009, 2014.
The Afterschool Alliance conducted a survey from May 28-June 30, 2020 to explore what afterschool programs are experiencing during the pandemic. The results show that 84 percent of programs are concerned that they will not be able to provide services in the fall due to increased requirements and 61 percent are concerned they may close permanently.
The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) collaborated with more than 40 partners to develop this SEL Roadmap designed to support teams in planning for the transition back to schools.
CASEL's District Resource Center is developed in partnership with school districts that are part of the Collaborating Districts Initiative, which has recently been enhanced. This tool kit is also intended to provide resources to out-of-school programs.
The School-Age Consumer Education toolkit shares consumer education information, including state examples and resources, on the physical, social, and emotional health and development of school-age children and engagement efforts with their parents and families.
This tool is designed to assist states and territories with calculating the annual and monthly State Median Income (SMI) and Federal Poverty Level (FPL) used to determine income eligibility and family copayments for child care subsidy programs. The tool connects to excel spreadsheets to calculate the SMI that is available by emailing NCSIA@ECETTA.info
This special report focuses on the potential of afterschool and summer programs to support families living in communities of concentrated poverty. It outlines both benefits of Out-of-School (OST) programs and barriers to enrollment for families from resource-poor backgrounds. It offers recommendations to system builders and providers.
