Evaluation showed increased knowledge, skills, and confidence for students, and staff confidence in leading STEM, as well as staff retention.
This issue brief outlines a policy agenda for federal, state, and local efforts that can increase participation in summer STEM learning, with a special focus on girls and students of color who have been under-represented in higher education and in careers.
This video is a keynote speech delivered by Dr. Shawn Ginwright. He explores stories and research related to his healing-centered framework to overcome trauma by building hope through relational, restorative, and political strategies.
This issue brief provides case studies of best practices in four exemplary summer programs that provide engaging STEM opportunities. The programs in Ohio, Connecticut, Michigan, and Kentucky produce positive outcomes on grades, standardized test scores, social-emotional competence, and graduation rates.
This issue brief provides a summary of the increasingly robust research base on key characteristics of high quality programs and the resulting child outcomes. It also refers to the many valid and reliable measures that exist to examine program effectiveness, including the California Afterschool Outcome Measures Project.
This video begins with stories from students from a variety of backgrounds discussing their experiences dealing with "isms" in school. The students, teachers, and administrators give tips on how to create safer and inclusive schools and environments.
