On October 5, 2016 the National Center on Afterschool and Summer Enrichment and the National Center on Early Childhood Quality Assurance came together to offer an interactive webinar session to help better understand the needs of States, Territories, and Tribes around supporting school-age children in family child care.
One of the goals of the Child Care Development Fund is to increase access to high-quality child care for children in families of low income. On August 11, 2016 the National Center for Afterschool and Summer Enrichment hosted a webinar to learn about emerging strategies for intertwining subsidy with quality in school-age care.
This webinar explores ways to create a framework for continuity, consistency, equity and developmentally appropriate practice between early childhood and schools. The focus is on birth to grade three and can be helpful for school-age to consider. The ideas and state examples suggest we need to align practices and polices through cross-sector relationships.
