Meeting the School-Age Child Care Needs of Working Parents Facing COVID-19 Distance Learning: Policy Options to Consider

This issue brief was designed to inform the strategies and policies that the federal, state, and local government, as well as child care stakeholders, could adopt to support children, families, and afterschool programs during COVID-19. It opens with a review of the challenges that school-age child care is facing. Then it moves on to make policy recommendations including  cross- sector collaboration, funding and the subsidy system, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, licensing, grants, training and TA, and food programs. This resource supports the COVID-19 response.
