Technical Assistance Opportunity: Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) 101 Forum

What is the QRIS 101 Forum Opportunity?

Are you new to QRIS in your state, territory, or tribe? Do you want to know more about what is happening with QRIS at the national level? Are you looking to connect with people working on QRIS in other states? Are you looking for QRIS resources to support your work?

The National Center on Early Childhood Quality Assurance (ECQA Center) is pleased to announce an opportunity open to individuals who are new to QRIS and eager to explore and discuss QRIS related issues and topics. Recognizing that state QRISs are in different phases of implementation and that there is a need to support staff who are new to their roles in these complex systems, the Forum will be a place to meet their unique priorities. The QRIS 101 Forum is an opportunity for individuals to join in discussion with their peers; share experiences and lessons learned; and examine emerging strategies to support QRIS implementation efforts. Individual participants will explore areas of content and have access to individualized technical assistance (TA) to support QRIS implementation, revision, and alignment.

Forum Objectives

The objective of the Forum is to create a collective of leaders who have a space to actively engage with each other, discuss, and explore QRIS topics in a collaborative, supportive environment, ultimately increasing state and local capacity to support quality improvement efforts. Forum participants attending the 2019 QRIS National Meeting will be invited to meet face-to-face in a discussion hosted by Forum facilitators.

Who Should Participate?

This opportunity is open to new QRIS leaders. New QRIS leaders are those who have started working on QRIS development, implementation, or coordination within the past two years, including state and local implementation partners. Participation is limited to two leaders per state, territory, or tribe.

Participants can include but are not limited to:

  • QRIS State and Territory agency staff
  • Head Start state collaboration directors
