New Resources and Webinar About Family Child Care Access and Quality

The National Center on Early Childhood Quality Assurance (ECQA Center) invites you to attend Supports and Systems for Improving Access to and Sustainability of Family Child Care, a webinar introducing two new resources on promising strategies to improve the quality of care, engage family child care (FCC) providers, and sustain provider participation in regulatory systems and quality improvement initiatives.

The ECQA Center has developed a series of five resources that states, territories, and tribes can use to identify strategies for supporting FCC providers. The webinar will introduce participants to the last two documents in the series:

The webinar will feature insights from Amanda Szekely, a Senior Technical Assistance Specialist on state policy with ZERO TO THREE and the author of the FCC policy assessment and planning tool; Harriet Feldlaufer, the Director of the Division of Early Care at the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood and the State Administrator for the federal Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) program, who is currently working to establish a statewide initiative to support FCC providers; and Erica Phillips, the Chief Operating Officer of All Our Kin, a staffed FCC network in New Haven, Connecticut, that supports both license-exempt and licensed FCC providers.

The webinar will be held on December 12, 2017, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Who Should Attend

The webinar may benefit CCDF program administrators, community child care partners (such as child care resource and referral agencies, technical assistance and training organizations, professional development systems, colleges, and universities), Early Head Start – Child Care Partnership staff members, representatives of FCC provider associations, policymakers, and other FCC stakeholders. These groups may find the webinar and ECQA Center resources useful as they make decisions about how to best support FCC providers at the regional, state, and local levels.
