New Brief About Child Care Health Consultation

The National Center on Early Childhood Quality Assurance is pleased to share Child Care Health Consultation: Investing in Health and Early Learning Systems to Improve Child Outcomes,a new brief about the use of child care health consultation within state early childhood systems. Child care health consultants (CCHCs) support child care providers’ needs as the providers design emergency plans and policies, work to maintain best practices, or bring health and safety training and standards into compliance.

 
This brief will help CCDF administrators develop or strengthen their state consultation systems as one possible use of discretionary funds from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

•    Partnerships with other state consultants 
•    Disparities in health equity 
•    Incorporation of health consultation in licensing and in quality rating and improvement systems
