Eligible Children and Families

Though states have flexibility in administering the subsidy program, the CCDF sets certain eligibility criteria that must be addressed by the state and met by families to receive services.

How Subsidy Works – An Example

Parent eligibility determines child eligibility for subsidy. Child Care cost is covered by family contribution and certificates or vouchers. Eligible providers can accept certificates or vouchers as part of the child care payment.

Lead Agencies must have in effect policies to govern the use and disclosure of confidential and personally identifiable information about children and families receiving CCDF assistance and child care providers receiving CCDF funds.
